USSYP Selection Process — How to Qualify Qualified high school junior or seniors must show demonstrated leadership by serving in elected or appointed positions in which they are actively representing or previously represented a constituency in organizations related to student government, education, public affairs and community service.
The student must hold a leadership positions for the current academic year in any one of the following student government, civic or educational organizations during the entire academic year. Students attending DoD schools in the U. Student delegates will hear major policy addresses by senators, cabinet members, officials from the Departments of State and Defense and directors of other federal agencies, and they will hear from the president of the United States and a justice of the U.
