Call of Duty: Vanguard 's second place spot on the PS5 top 10 is quite impressive, given the fact that it released in November.
That says quite a bit about how strong digital sales for the game must have been in its debut month! While has just begun, there's already a significant number of games for PlayStation fans to get excited about this year, including major releases such as Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7 , both of which are set to release in the first quarter of the year.
A frantic multiplayer game from the people who made Celeste, TowerFall Ascension is as fun and frenzied as it gets. This four-player local multiplayer game pits a quartet of combatants against each other in kill-or-be-killed archery battles. The maps are small and the graphics are old-school, but TowerFall Ascension wrings massive amounts of fun out of its self-imposed limitations. Nothing beats dashing into an opponent's oncoming arrow to grab it, then taking them down with their own ammunition.
See our TowerFall Ascension review. What Remains of Edith Finch takes the basic premise of Gone Home--a young woman visiting an abandoned family home in the Pacific Northwest--but makes the missing family members present, not through notes and personal effects, but through short, playable vignettes. That might mean playing through a horror story rendered in comic book panels with cel-shaded art.
It also might mean witnessing, through a camera lens, a traumatic hunting trip where the plot only advances when you snap a picture. What Remains of Edith Finch is relentlessly inventive on the level of its individual stories, but also manages to build to a powerful conclusion that ties everything together.

When u feel rain through your controller and then thunder strikes your eardrums via 3D audio u will be in awe for a moment. I was. This is the only game that made me really stop and notice the 3D audio. Really impressive that The Forest is still making these lists after being out for a few years. I loved the game and am happy to see it still doing so well.
Gaming is bigger than ever but also dumber. The influx of casuals has been felt for a while. Ffs Halo Infinite was voted GotY by fans for The Game Awards while just the multiplayer was even available and even that was merely in beta. A free to play, mp beta was voted GotY. I have played both the mp and campaign and GotY should never be uttered in correlation with Halo Infinite. Probably the most overrated and underwhelming game of for me.
Returnal had the exact same numbers. Needless to say Resident Evil, Halo, Forza had much different ratios.. Few games have pulled our family together like it has, and still can.
